Solid Rock Engineering, Inc. is led technically by Mr. R. Douglas Provins. Mr. Provins is well known locally and regionally for his work and experience in the geotechnical (soil) consulting, construction, and post-construction defect evaluations. His career experience spans 18 years. Mr. Provins is licensed as a civil engineer (C 56018) and geotechnical engineer (G 2568) in the state of California. While in college at San Diego State University, Mr. Provins spent five years working in the ready-mixed concrete industry as a quality control technician and technical services representative. During a portion of that time, Mr. Provins served as the lead quality control manager and performed dozens of concrete-, soil-, and aggregate-related distress evaluations. This experience provided a solid foundation and springboard Mr. Provins' professional career as a geotechnical and construction materials engineering consultant. While completing his bachelor's (1993) and master's degrees (1998) in civil engineering (geotechnical emphasis), Mr. Provins worked for several local geotechnical consultants in the private sector. Mr. Provins has performed scores of preliminary design, construction and post-construction distress evaluations relating to soil, concrete, and similar materials. Mr. Provins' design experience included evaluations for roadways, pavements, water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, educational facilities, hospitals, military facilities, and residential and commercial structures. Similarly, construction-related evaluations included numerous roads, highways, bridges, educational facilities, water and wastewater treatment plants, and pipelines, commercial developments, and industrial facilities.

In the spring of 2005, Mr. Provins left his employer to launch Solid Rock Engineering, Inc. Mr. Provins and his wife, Tracy Lee, founded Solid Rock with the intention of providing excellent quality and value geotechnical and materials engineering consulting services to public and private sector clients, Mrs. Provins holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics with a supplemental certificate in general science. As president, Mrs. Provins directs business, accounting, and business development efforts. As vice president and principal engineer, Mr. Provins provides engineering direction and supervision. In addition, he also participates in business, accounting, and business development efforts.
